“Good Facilities and Clean but Hit and Miss in Other Respects”

There’s a lot to like about the Alexandra. The facilities, especially the indoor pool, sauna and jacuzzi are excellent. Breakfast is decent and the dining room is kept clean. Rooms are basic but are serviced well. The things which are frustrating about the Alexandra would be so easy to put right. These include having to ask them to turn the sauna on, the fact that everyone who tried to use the jacuzzi couldn’t work out how to operate it. A simple sign maybe? Furthermore, there’s no storage or shelving in the bathrooms and no means of drying towels. Which brings me onto my biggest gripe - towels. What is the voucher system all about? We were handed a towel card on arrival with no explanation. Asking for another towel after a couple of days was clearly a cardinal sin as the reception staff were rude to myself and other members of my party on a couple of occasions. Believe us when I say no one wants to steel paper thin, stained purple towels that must have been used and washed a 1000 times. But with an absence of being able to dry the towels in the rooms replacements are a necessity, so get over it and factor laundry into the cost. Upon trying to hand said towel in my wife was turned away and told to come back the day after ‘as it would upset the count’ - Jesus, sort it out.

Alexandra hotel was right at the heart of St julians close to the tourist hop on hop off bus, to amenities like supermarket arkadia and many shops as well as the clubbing area. I loved the breakfast variety and of course the pool sauna and jacuzzi. The staff was so friendly that even after our early check out they provided towels and let us use the facilities until the time of our flight!

I had top floor (6) so my balcony got the sun till 4. Breakfast is brilliant so many options. The gym surprised me very substantial. Great location and surprisingly quiet

The property location was really good, the staff in the restaurant were really friendly and always happy to help. There was a cleaner daily which was nice and they were great. The gym pool and sauna was a great addition to the experience and elevated the things that weren’t so great.
