Great location close to the centre of town. The large free car park was a bonus making it easy to park and walk into town. Our room was very clean with complimentary toiletries and tea and coffee. The bed was very comfortable with crisp white linen and although it wasn’t very big we still slept very well. The staff were all fabulous, so friendly and helpful they really made our stay. Breakfast was included in the room rate which made it great value. The food was ok, portions were plentiful and the food was well cooked. It’s not high quality food but it’s cheap and definitely value for money. I have read other reviews which criticise the decor. It does look a bit tired but it is an old building and the hotel is comfortable and welcoming. Our room was lovely with great views of the garden and personal having a clean room and great staff is more important than the decor. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely stay again. The hotel is well positioned for exploring the surrounding area with plenty of great walks from the doorstep. The fabulous staff really made the stay.
