Superb stay! It certainly smashes any negative preconceptions about the huge Soweto township. 'Authentic" is absolutely the right word - you sleep in a genuine homestay and are well looked after by the family, even the 8 year old daughter took me to the local shop! Lungi is the tour guide, and what he doesn't know about Soweto isn't worth bothering with. He was a schoolboy in the 1976 peaceful demonstration that resulted in the police opening fire and killing children, including Hector Pieterson. He certainly brings authenticity to that appalling event. Such an honour to talk with him and learn from him.

An amazing place to discover the life in Soweto and better understand the history. We really enjoyed the place and the opportunity we had to visit with Luggi Soweto. It was by bike for us but other transportation means were possible. He explained us a lot about the apartheid, the evolution since then and today life in Soweto. We discovered a nice village and have been very well welcomed not only by the owner and his family but also by the neighbours. Luggi took us for dinner to an African Buffet: delicious. The experience we had there has been a very good surprise and we warmly recommend the place. It's worth discovering it. By the way, wifi is free

the best thing is the experience of Lungi. Living Soweto history with one person who has lived apartheid is a great experience.
