The location was excellent for walking to the shops and restaurants etc. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially in the restaurant. My room was comfortable.

The location of the hotel is fantastic. It is very central and close to corso Italia which is the Main Street of the historic centre. It is also only 17 minutes walk to the train station an 16 minutes walk to the main ferry port marina piccolo where the ferries depart ( I would using the lift to get up and down to the marina and beach clubs.) we walked down on a couple of occasions but if you want to see the sights you do a lot of walking while in Sorrento and the Amalfi coast (with lots of steps ) so save your legs. The view from the hotel over the Gulf of Naples is stunning. We chose an economy room which was small but by Italian standard I would say it was more of a standard room and perfectly sufficient for our needs we even had a small balcony with a side sea view. My parents choose a much larger room with a balcony and sea view and they were very happy with it. The staff were all friendly polite and professional. We had breakfast every morning which was the typical style of savory and sweet. You could order different types of eggs for an extra €3 but we had more than enough with what was provided on the buffet. We had a fabulous meal on our first night in Nino’s restaurant in the hotel and we were really looked after by our waiter Giuseppe. It was a warm welcome to Rivage and Sorrento. We also had lunch one of the afternoons we were relaxing at the hotel and it was also very good. I would highly recommend having food there at least once during your stay. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the rooms were serviced everyday. The A\C was excellent and the temperature could be adjusted in the room. The pool (pool towels were provided) and sunbed area were lovely, the pool was small but perfectly sufficient to swim up and down and a lovely way to cool down from the sun. There was also a lovely shared lounge area on the 3rd floor with an outdoor balcony. I would definitely rate this hotel more like a 4 star. (rather than a 3 star as listed)
