Magnificent unique setting with professional, friendly and welcoming reception staff. We dined at their Enoristro’ restaurant, beautifully prepared local delicacies and excellent service. Bedroom was comfortable with a gorgeous view. We enjoyed a generous tasty breakfast with a great choice of sweet and savoury foods. We highly recommend a stay at the Hotel della Fortezza

A once in a lifetime experience in one of the most beautiful towns we’ve ever seen. Staying at Hotel della Fortezza was genuinely unforgettable. We’d highly recommend arriving from below the town and driving up across the bridge into Sorano, the view as the village reveals itself is absolutely breathtaking. As we reached the top, we were amazed to see the fortress dominating the skyline and then realised we were actually staying inside it. From the moment we arrived, the experience was exceptional. The lady at reception couldn’t have been more friendly or welcoming, instantly setting the tone for our stay. The room completely blew us away. The decor makes you feel like you’re genuinely living inside a historic castle, but with comfort and attention to detail throughout. And the view from the window overlooking the ancient town and dramatic gorge is something we’ll never forget. We chose to eat at the restaurant within the fortress to fully embrace the experience, and we’re so glad we did. Christiano, who is also a local winemaker, was a fantastic host, guiding us through the menu and helping us choose authentic local dishes. What really stood out is that all of the food is locally sourced, with ingredients grown in a completely unpolluted area. We were told there’s no pollution within an 80km radius, and you can genuinely taste the difference. Everything felt fresh, natural and true to the region. Christiano’s wine was excellent too, and knowing it was made by him made the whole experience even more special. We were also looked after by a young waiter who was incredibly attentive and professional. The service all round was outstanding. We left feeling genuinely elated. This is easily one of the most authentic, unique and memorable stays we’ve ever had, and somewhere we’ll be talking about for years. We woke up feeling refreshed after a great night’s sleep.

We had a very good stay. The location is excellent, making it easy to get around and very convenient overall. The room itself was beautiful, comfortable, and pleasant to spend time in. One of the highlights was definitely the sunsets, which were absolutely incredible and made the stay feel extra special. The staff were friendly and welcoming. It was also convenient to stay here with a child. The breakfast was excellent. We also appreciated the convenient parking. Overall, this is a lovely place to stay, with a great combination of location, comfort, service, and family-friendly convenience.
