Great location for what we needed, allowed us use of the garage so we could secure our motorbikes overnight…. A group of five us too! Staff very friendly and great communication.

Villa Theresa is a unique property. Although right in the centre of Soignies it’s peaceful, private and has a beautiful garden; and we were lucky enough to have the house to ourselves for most of our stay. We had two rooms (Ruby and Agate). Both were a good size but Agate is very light and spacious and has a private bathroom, so handy if you’re travelling as a family. We were able to store food and drinks in the fridge, including treats from the excellent bakery. The house is a characterful mix of old and new, with lots of period features alongside modern art and luxurious modern bathrooms. There’s a TV room in which we plugged in our portable DVD player for entertainment on a stormy night, and plenty of spaces to read or play board games etc. Another big plus is private off-road parking which is locked at night, Soignies is a quiet town but its residents are very friendly and welcoming, and there are lots of good places to eat or grab a takeaway. Close to Mons, Pairi Daiza and several local chateaux and attractions by car, it’s also only 30 mins away from Brussels by train (the train station’s a ten minute walk from the house); so a perfect spot to relax or explore. We’d highly recommend Villa Theresa to anyone travelling through Belgium and looking for somewhere with character, history and real charm.

Villa Theresa is a real hidden gem with stunning original features including a magnificent staircase. Communication with the owners was always easy despite my lack of French! The rooms are simple but elegant and spotlessly clean. Although the weather was not on our side for our trip, the garden looked lovely out the window.

This is an amazing quirky Villa, in a quiet street. Very comfortable room and an amazing host, who spoke as much English as I did French, but we muddled through. Nothing was too much effort and the host had a lot of patience with me!
