What an experience! I haven’t stayed in a castle before so this was a treat, there was a bath in the bedroom which was probably my favourite part. The staff were lovely, the facilities were great and the bar had delicious cocktails! Overall 10/10

It’s stunning from the moment you enter through the gate and when the castle suddenly arises in the distance it takes your breath away! This is a proper castle with everything one imagines a castle to be. The dinner was excellent and creative, all locally sourced.

absoluly stunning house in beautiful grounds, the rooms are very clean and comfortable, staff is very friendly, it's like walking right into a novel by Wodehouse or Christie, you have the feeling you're staying in a private home. We were sorry to leave, it was just so perfect.

Markree Castle is a dream! Our bedroom was quite big, the decor was gorgeous and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The staff we encountered were very helpful and down to earth. We didn't get the opportunity to have breakfast or dinner in the restaurant, but we hope to be back in the not so far future. I couldn't recommend Markree Castle more- it is packed full of character and luxury.

Staying at Markree Castle was definitely the highlight of our 3-week trip around Ireland. We felt so fortunate that we decided on Markree after conducting meticulous research on Irish castle stays. It was our first time staying in a castle and we felt like royals! We loved exploring the historical castle, and there was even more to take in than we expected - from a great number of beautifully decorated rooms and spaces to the abbey and the lovely grounds. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent and all the staff were most kind and helpful. Our room was very elegant, clean and had a nice view as well. Our stay was magical and didn't lack a thing!
