lovely place, friendly chap behind bar ‘matty’ good for banter. i had a budget so it fitted that budget, so don’t expect miracles here but under £50 near the coast with parking is good by all accounts. not too much in the village but it has s spar/postie and a chippy. plough itself is an interning pub which i dont doubt is more open and up n running in spring/summer. take notice if opening times - it says 12-11 online but yday (weds) for example was 3-8.30 - i got back at 8.44 fancying a pint for the road and the place was closed so bare that in mind. salmon leap down the road was nice and they kindly gave me a lift back up the long steep bank lovely village and the pub was a perfect budget break for an outdoorsy winter mountain biker like me with crazy climbs and stunning scenery within 30 seconds from the door

Lovely friendly pub, open fire so warm and cosy. Staff are really welcoming and very easy to get on with. We love it here, plenty of walks and places to eat, so it’s a good place to grab food, have a pint and get your head down.

Excellent location in Sleights near Whitby, great base to explore the north York moors, we was visiting to see the wintery weather. Staff member was kind and helpful and the food was great.
