Perfect central location, close to the sea promenade and easy access to good range of restaurants and bars. Our room was very spacious, cool and comfortable with lovely terrace.

The B&B is conveniently located to everything on the tiny island of Ortigia. Most rooms (including ours) are bright and well-decorated with lovely terraces overlooking the largely pedestrian street. Simple breakfasts (croissants, fresh orange juice and coffee) were served just outside the B&B at an adjacent cafe under the same ownership. The owner was very friendly, helpful and accessible.

Palazzo del Sale is a wonderful find: a very special place. Giovanni is a total delight: warmly welcoming and helpful, and someone for whom nothing is too much trouble. Our party had three rooms, all of which are large and well appointed. Two had their own extensive private balconies. Giovanni has a little bar next door, from where he serves drinks and makes the most delicious light meals, eaten and drunk either in the bar or at tables outside in the quiet street. Breakfast is certainly continental rather than full English, but hey: who cares, when it is Giovanni on hand and you are in the divine Ortigia!
