Just returned from a lovely weeks stay in Tuscany. We rented villa Tinia, which we can thoroughly recommend - the view from the balcony off of the master bedroom is stunning, and a great place to sit out and watch the stars before bed. Although not air conditioned the temperature of the villa was noticeably colder than outside (using shutters during the day to keep the heat out - it was mid 30s when we visited). The location is fantastic for rural Tuscany, plenty of hill top local towns, Italian Cyprus trees, Olive Trees, plus day trips to Florence, Pisa & Siena (Siena was my favourite out of the three). Note to those visiting the cities - you are not meant to drive in to the Historical parts of the cities unless you are local and there are fines! Ooops. Also parking tip in Italian towns/cities - White bays Free to Park, Blue you Pay to Park, Yellow Locals Only. After a day's sightseeing the pool is the perfect location to cool off and relax before visiting a local restaurant for an evening meal (we thought they were reasonably priced and very friendly.) Clean villa that had everything we need for our stay and the owners responded quickly via text message if we had any questions.

Spacey and comfortable apartment with all necessary amenities. Beautiful surroundings, very green with great views of Tuscan countryside. Nice, large pool. Quiet and cosy, ideal for summer rest and relax. A few excellent restaurants nearby, serving great Italian food for fair prices.

We spent the first two weeks of July in Piccolo Borgo Gagnoni, in house Thesan. The owner, Joost was very kind and helpful, they do not live on site but nearby, so you can reach them if you need any help. The property is in the countryside, close to the main roads, but you have to take a short gravel road to get to the property, which is in good condition, but dusty, so be prepared for a good car wash after your holiday :-), but the property itself and the peace and quiet will compensate for this.The property is well maintained, the garden has beautiful plants. The house was spacious (there were four of us). On the first floor there were two bedrooms, a bathroom with shower, toilet and bidet. On the ground floor there was a kitchen (with stove, oven, and dishwasher), a dining area, a living room, and a toilet. On the east side of the house there was an outdoor seating area, and on the west side there was a patio covered with shady plants. There is a nice pool for guests to use, with sun loungers and shady pavilions. You will need to bring your own towels for the pool area, but otherwise you do not need to bring towels and bed linen, and these were changed after one week. Note that this is a house/apartment rental, so you will need to bring your own toiletries and cleaning products, we usually stay in apartments/houses when we travel, so it wasn’t a surprise, just be prepared for this. In some places you get some essentials (dishwasher tablets, liquid soap, some cleaning products), here there was only dishwashing liquid in the sink, so you should bring your own dishwasher tablets (if you want to use the dishwasher machine), soap/liquid soap for hand washing, spices and so on. The kitchen was well equipped, there was enough (in size and quantity) dishes, plates, glasses etc., the only thing what we missed was a sharp knife, we only found a small and blunt knife, so we bought a proper knife, otherwise there wasn’t any problem at all.
