You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation.While Cambodian rural architecture has been extensively studied by leading researchers, they found the sad fact is that traditional housing has been disappearing at a too fast pace from the countryside and, obviously, from urban development.
At Dontrei Villa Angkor, we love these houses. Because they tell us of the Cambodian past, of the cleverness and humility of the past generations. Because they are things of beauty, harmoniously blending into their natural environment – sit on the balcony of any of our houses and you’ll get the feeling. And because they are surprisingly adapted to modern life, with the wooden walls gently absorbing the day heat, and releasing it at dusk.
Dontrei Villa Angkor founder and director Davy Chan, along with husband Ly and a team of carpenters, has rescued and repurposed some nine traditional houses since 2019. Some of the houses are from over 30-year old to 160-year old Cambodian traditional houses.
Gently dismantling these time-honored structures, moving them with care to our grounds, redesigning them while keeping their harmonious proportions, replacing damaged timber and roof tiles: this is a labor we undertake with our heart.

From the moment we arrived, we were amazed by the beauty of the place – so carefully maintained, with incredible attention to detail, it truly feels like a peaceful paradise. The staff are warm and welcoming, the cuisine is full of amazing flavors and feels completely safe for someone visiting from abroad, and the rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. It’s the kind of place where you instantly relax and feel at home. Moreover, easy and value for money transportation with tuk tuk or car, available by the hotel. I honestly couldn’t recommend it more! Thank you Dontrei!

A hidden gem in Siem Reap. The place is like being in the middle in the jungle. Great pool(s), very nice designed spacious rooms and friendly staff. Breakfast might be a little expensive for Cambodjan standards, but is very good.

We absolutely loved o ur stay here you get the true side of Siem reap in the beautiful trees and wooden villas it’s has such a beautiful feel as soon as you walk in. The location was great for us as it’s quiet. You can hire a scooter for $10usd a day elsewhere and come and go as you please from the villa. The staff were very attentive and kind. The room was as pictured. And the pool is amazing the perfect temperature for a humid day. I would recommend this to anyone.
