Had everything we needed for a short stay, everyone was friendly, and comfortable. Very pretty village, and excellent pub!

Food was probably the best I've ever had, in a beautiful cosy old inn, with really friendly and hospitable people running the place and serving. Staff were attentive and service quick. The wine was excellent, too. Can see why they call it 'famous Steak Pie' it was incredible! Pork chops WITH Rosemary from the specials board melted in the mouth had a delicious mustard sauce. The Prawns in Chilli butter starter were so full of flavour. The room was clean and very comfortable, the ensuite shower and toilet newly fitted and toiletries and towels provided..What am absolutely beautiful little village and location. The full English breakfast was easily one of the best I've ever had. Every meal we had was made with proper care and quality ingredients. Couldn't praise them enough. Would love to return!

Best breakfast we have had in the 8 weeks that have been travelling Very comfortable bedroom with delightful touches eg spare king sheet to replace duvet on a warm night if preferred Excellent staff - friendly and efficient Dinner of Yorkshire "tapas" was well-prepared and fun Lots of parking Beautiful village of Sicklinghall
