good breakfast, plenty of selections, quiet restaurant with seaview, very comfortable, most visitors were Japanese, didn't see and heard any people speaking loudly, so I can enjoy the quiet here. The location is good, there are bus stops just outside the hotel, and ferry terminal just within 15 minutes' walk with luggage.

We loved the yukata and really enjoyed being able to wear them around the hotel — it added to the whole experience. We were lucky to be travelling with a Japanese friend who showed us how to put them on properly with the obi, which made it even more special. We also discovered a fantastic little seafood restaurant less than 100 metres from the hotel, serving excellent sake and incredibly fresh sashimi. The hotel has great facilities for children, including a well-equipped play area with basketballs, soccer balls, bikes and badminton racquets, which would keep little ones happily occupied. There’s also a lovely onsen room upstairs. Also a very convenient laundromat on site (standard costs apply). Staff were very helpful and very hospitable and pleasant. The rooms were big (in Japanese standards) and bathroom adequate. Loved the combination of Japanese and Western in the room which added again to the experience. Shimabara Castle was very close as were the Sumarai residence to check out. Great sunrise the next day.

Everything was perfect from the check in to the check out. The staff was very professional and welcoming, the restaurant was very good, and the baths were excellent.

Nicely situated next to the waterfront and right next to the ferry crossing over to Kumamoto. Practical. Beautiful view in the breakfast room. Two different onsens.
