It was a decent stay in the middle of Shillong. Just don't expect zostel-like facilities for this price. The owner Hubert is a very chill and helpful person. He has an excellent scooter rental service too. Good location - plenty of food options nearby and you can easily reach other parts of the city via the main road nearby. It was surprisingly social for a hostel whose only social area was basically a smoking area.

The owner is very friendly and helpful. The place is very well maintained, clean and provide hot running water for bathroom and drinking water facilities. Really a great place to stay for budget travellers.If you're looking for a low-cost, comfortable, and friendly place to stay in Shillong than you should really consider staying at Isabella Hostel.

We had a good stay and found the rooms to be clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay at this hostel again on our next visit to Meghalaya.

The hostel is located in the lively Laitumkrah neighbourhood, which is easily accessed by share-taxis from the centre of town (Police Bazaar) or a 30 minute walk. There are lots of shops & restaurants around. The owner is a knowledgeable guy and can help with travel plans or renting vehicles. There is a small onsite cafe which is a popular place to hangout. Dorms are adequate, but the mattresses are a little hard. Bathrooms are quite small, but hot water buckets are available for washing.
