Fantastic location to explore the surrounding countryside. There are so many walks right from the doorstep. One of the biggest surprises was that although our room was right next to the very busy main road, it was so quiet that you didn't hear anything. The soundproofing was excellent. The breakfast was spot on. If there had been a chance to stay longer, we would have done. Hopefully, we will find another date sometime soon. The Innkeeper's restaurant was just the right size for plenty of customers whilst not being too loud. The food was excellent as well.

The staff here are absolutely lovely! We were mostly looked after during our 2 night stay by Billy, who for someone brand new on the job did brilliantly. Very pleasant to chat with and very helpful with anything we needed. Our room was big and comfy, and extremely clean, with optional room service throughout the stay. The attached pub/restaurant does lovely food, though prices are a little on the higher end. They also do take-out,so we're happy to box up our leftovers for us to take back to our room for later in the evening. Longshaw Estate is just a few mins walk over the road, and is an absolutely beautiful setting to spend a couple of days exploring. The Fox House is a great base for this. We went with intentions of hiking nearby trails, and coming back here each night provided a cosy and comfortable rest.
