“Superb”

We were able to book a special offer room here for around 5 thousand yen per person per night, and considering the facilities, it was an incredibly cheap prize. The spacious room had two double beds and a space with sofa chairs for relaxing. The room was nice and warm- way cozier than the freezing ryokan rooms. We could see the giant Kannon statue from our room too. There were two onsen rooms which switched between men and women daily, so you can experience both if you go in there in the evening and next morning. There was a wide choice of beautiful yukatas in the lobby, in sizes for taller people too. Pretty good for getting a holiday snap. There are baskets in the room for you to carry your towel and change of clothes when you go to the onsen, which was very thoughtful. There were meal options too, but they were pretty expensive, so we passed. Next to the lobby there was a souvenir shop. We could get unlimited drinks of juice, fuzzy drinks, tea etc. at the drink machine. There was a vending machine with some alcoholic drinks too. You can get a shuttle to Tazawako station if you reserve it in advance- we got on it on the day of our check-out. If you don't want to spend an arm and a leg on staying in the ryokans of Nyuto Onsen, this hotel is a great option. The buses going to several of the seven onsens in the Nyuto Onsen area depart every hour from the nearby Dai-Kannon bus stop. Ganiba Onsen could be a good choice for a very traditional onsen experience in the woods, and Kyukamura would be for those who like safer options. Tsuru no Yu is way harder to access, but it has the most famous hot spring.
