Accommodation in nature. Pleasant place but actually not a very good starting point for exploring Fanal forest. Man must go over 800 m up to get to the trails and levadas.

Camp site in beautiful environment. We loved the place. Tents are good. Beds in the tent are good. Kitchen is a nice addition. Don’t expect a hotel. Don’t expect that nature isn’t treating you bad sometimes. Of course the tents can be wet. When we there it rained in the night. Things will get wet, but that just can happen. It is a great experience and I am glad that this still exists!

We are a couple and stayed 1 night. The place is remote; a car is essential. There is no staff on site — you receive a code to access your tent. When we arrived, our tent was already occupied. After contacting the owner (thanks to the guest there) and waiting about 20 minutes, we were given a new tent. The issue was solved, but it was stressful after a long drive. The tents match the photos, but be aware there is no sound isolation and tents are very close together — you hear everything (bring earplugs!). Bathrooms, toilets, and kitchen are in a nearby building. The location is stunning: you fall asleep to the sound of a waterfall and wake up surrounded by volcanic hills. Despite the issues, the nature and views made it worth it. Just come prepared.
