What a find! Our family rocked up at Seeheim at 4pm, having booked en-route about 20 minutes earlier and still, the welcome we received was perfection. So warm, open and relaxed, with bonus love from uber-friendly wiggly-bottomed dogs and piglets! The setting is fascinating, steeped in history, a family-owned business and train station established in the Diamond Rush era, updated in areas over the years but still wrapped in rustic charm with an incredible array of impressive big game taxidermy adorning the bar & reception walls, expertly mounted by the late owner’s wife. Bedrooms were clean, charming and beds cosy. Locally-sourced food (Oryx T-bone, steak, pork chops, chicken schnitzel, squeezed local OJ) was exceptional, fresh & generous, and the incredibly well-stocked ‘honesty bar’ embodied the friendly at-home spirit of a place our kids and we were sad to leave this morning!
