It was walking distance to everything, very central. Room was a good size, we booked a family room by error (we booked it months in advance, so we had plenty of room. The room was clean and tidy and suitable for what we needed. We were located in one of the wings of the hotel, not in the house.

The breakfast was amazing. A good choice of menu and coffee hot on arrival to our room. Check in very quick and we were upgraded to a king room at no extra cost.

We liked the airiness in the room created by the higher-than-normal ceiling. The place was fresh and comfortable after a long drive. The fittings and furniture all seemed fresh and fairly new. This was probably the best motel we stayed at on our 4 night drive from Brisbane to Melbourne. We also liked the stately building in the grounds (Airlie House). The RSL was just a comfortable walk away where we could get a good dinner, with quite a few types of dining options. The owner/manager was pleasant and efficient upon our arrival. There was plenty of space all around so there was no question of feeling crowded in. The aircon worked well in the hot weather, which was a great relief.
