Loved being back in Schmerikon where I grew up and enjoyed being at the Strandhotel. Very nice owner that made me feel very special. Cannot wait to come back some other time with my children/grandchildren.

Beautifully peaceful and relaxing, the location was idyllic, slightly off the tourist track but accessible by train. We travelled from Zurich to Rapperswil by ferry and then hopped on the train for the final 10mins journey - a relaxing way to start the trip and get some sightseeing in at the same time. Breakfast was spot on, seating outside looking over the lake was a perfect start to the mornings. We also had dinner 3 out of 4 evenings in the restaurant - the food was excellent (my husband loved the lemongrass soup) and also treated to spectacular sunsets over the lake.whilst dining. The room was beautiful, clean and the bed was really comfy and to top it off a decent shower. We loved watching all the birds on the lake, the swans with their cygnets, watching the coots nest and we even ventured for a swim in the lake.ourselves. Thank you for a memorable stay
