Marianne made contact a few days before my stay to arrange payment which I liked. She was ready with a warm and friendly greeting when I arrived and gave a thorough explanation of what facilities were available. The room was clean and a good size for me, with a comfortable bed. I should warn that I would describe the bathroom as compact, but some might find it cramped. I managed with it very well and I am not particularly small. The location was perfect for the cricket ground, and various local cafes and pubs. If all you want is a clean home-from-home bed for the night then this is perfect and I will be returning to North Sands Lodge when I next visit Scarborough. However, I'm confused by some elements of the Booking.com listing. No breakfast is provided, with the nearest cafe is about 30 metres away (cash only, no cards accepted). There is some street parking but it appears to be residents only, or there are plenty of pay car parks within 10 mins walk. Basically, don't arrive thinking you can park your car outside and leave it there for a day or two.

An excellent bed and breakfast hotel. Very clean, very pleasant room and bathroom, really helpful staff, excellent TV. No complaints at all and highly recommended.
