There is nothing to do in Santiago, it was really just a stop to break up our travels. For that, the hostel is perfect. You can get to the hostel and just stay there the whole afternoon and evening. You can order dinner, drinks and breakfast and be on your way the next day. The neighbourhood is not bad, but not great either, but it feels very safe in the hostel and they have nice places to relax, so you actually don't need to go anywhere.

I liked the setup of the hostel, they have given it a nice vibe. Two lovely doggies will greet you on arrival. There are some hammocks to chill in too. The outdoor kitchen is basic and functional. There are no shops close to buy food to cook or to eat you need to go back into town which is a 13 minute walk or $1.50 taxi. You can buy meals there price range $4 - $9.50 USD, food is ok. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. Good wifi.
