“An Idyllic Holiday in Gorgeous Santanyi!”
06 Oct 2023
The house is located on a very quiet street on the edge of Santanyi. There is minimal traffic on the street outside the house and virtually no traffic noise. We were able to park outside the house for most of our stay, only occasionally having to park further down the street. Its almost idyllic in a way, you are living amongst the locals. The house itself is really great with everything you could possibly need. One of my concerns was the amount of sun protection at the back of the house as a previous reviewer thought it inadequate. We had no issues. The awnings are great and throughout the day shady areas are plentiful. The sun is there from morning until early evening. Its a five minute walk into the gorgeous Santanyi town centre. We have always visited Santanyi when staying in the area and were delighted to find a rental property in the town itself. Its a really lovely town which has had a lot of tasteful restoration carried out on its buildings. There are lots of art, craft, ceramic and interior shops as well as the normal clothing and food stores. Its a very upmarket town and is not for those wanting wild night life. There is a market twice a week which is very busy, mainly because it must be one of the best if not the best market on the island. It was a joy just to wander down from the house and explore it on both days!! No tat in sight much to my husbands surprise ( he hates markets!) There are lots of lovely coffee shops and and restaurants to choose from. Our two adult children were staying with us and they loved the house and Santanyi as much as we did. You are not far from the coast and the beaches at Mondrago Natural Park are excellent and Portopetro, Cala Figuera and Portocolom which has our favourite restaurant, Sa Llotja are all worth exploring.
