The room that we were allocated was not what we expected. We believed from the website booking that we were staying in the middle of the village, instead of this we were outside of the wall in a much more modest setting. We were looking forward to the more opulent setting as a treat. The hosts were very good and our room was clean and comfortable, just not what we were expecting, which was disappointing as I feel that the website was misleading. We had been walking the Via Francigena and looking forward to a treat.

The apartment we stayed in had stunning views across the San Gimignano countryside and was located on the top floor of a historic palazzo right on the main square of San Gimignano. The breakfasts were great, attentively served by our hostess and the location was excellent.
