There're a lot of positives, the location is great, 2 and a half blocks from Union square, area feels safe from early in the morning to late at night (11 pm). Yes, there are homeless people around, but they are literally everywhere you go, it still doesn't feel unsafe to walk around. The hotel itself, I personally really liked it, it is a really old building that has been modernized, yet keeping the aesthetics of an old building. Spaces in general are a bit small, but I really don't mind. The room itself is smaller than what it seemed in the pictures, I was staying by myself so I had no issues with that. The bed mattress was really comfortable, the bathroom was well equipped and comfortable. And I want to emphasize how clean the room was kept every single day, I would leave in the morning for the conference and come back to have the sheets, towels and everything changed for new ones and everything looking tidy and clean. That was really nice. Lastly, the people from reception were very attentive and the included breakfast was fairly good.

The location was great, the staff were helpful, the room was quiet and comfortable. I loved that they supplied a breakfast in the lobby each morning which, while not large or extensive, was fresh, filling and sufficient. I also liked that there was cold, lemon infused, water in the lobby along with a coffee, tea, hot chocolate machine which was available 24 hours a day. The Italian restaurant attached to the hotel was excellent and I would recommend eating there. I also loved the quaint elevator!
