Mar de Vinas is run by a lovely and very attentive young couple. We can't say enough about these hosts. They go the extra mile to ensure their guests' comfort. The property is at the edge of quiet San Asensio and overlooks many kms of vineyards and faraway hills, storms and rainbows! Wow. The house is a home for guests with living and relaxing areas. Fabulous breakfast to order. San Asensio is a good location from which to explore central-western Rioja.

We liked everything, especially the owners Beñat and Ane. We can't praise Beñat enough. Ane had to look after their 10 months old daughter so we did not see her a lot but Beñat is a wonderful person and host. He cooked our 3 breakfasts and 2 dinners and advised us where to go and what to see in the area. He is very knowledgeable and yet a very humble person. The view from the house is very special as one can see far and wide - the hills in the distance and the wine fields near the house. The house Mar de viñas commands a very beautiful view. Another point to mention is that Mar de viñas is close to lovely places like Briones, Najera and Haro with famous wineries like Muga, Roda and Rioja Alta
