Hotel Overview

This exclusive hotel offers scenic mountain views and cosy rooms in an annex of the historic Leopoldskron Palace, just 2 km from Salzburg’s historic centre. Scenes from The Sound of Music were filmed on site, and the Salzburg Festival was founded there.
The property is divided in 2 buildings, the Meierhof and the Palace The 55 rooms in the Meierhof Building and the 12 Suites which are situated in the palace, feature satellite TV and a bathroom. A fitness centre and bikes are at guests' disposal upon availability and free WiFi is provided in all areas. Leopoldskron Palace is privately owned and not generally accessible to the public. Guests enjoy free access to the palace, the Max Reinhardt Library, and the chapel.
The daily breakfast buffet is served in the majestic breakfast room in the palace. In good weather conditions, guest can also have their breakfast on the panorama balcony.
Free private parking and two charging stations are available at Hotel Schloss Leopoldskron. Jogging and cycling trails are right outside. Guests can enjoy free access to a public pool and miniature golf course situated next to the hotel complex during the summer season.

Max Reinhardt Suite - enter dates to see room photos

Offering views of the Leopoldskroner Weiher Lake and the Untersberg Mountain, this large suite in the historic palace was the former home of Max Reinhardt, the founder of the Salzburg Festival, who owned the palace from 1918 to 1937. It includes a secret corridor leading directly to his famous library. The suite underwent a soft renovation in 2016 and features newly upholstered furniture and classic memorabilia from Max Reinhardt's era. It features a flat-screen TV, safe, magazines, refrigerator, ironing facilities, bathrobes and slippers, a bathroom with a shower, hairdryer and toiletries, and a separate toilet.

Premium Double Room - Meierhof Building - enter dates to see room photos

Renovated in 2014 and located in the Meierhof annex building, this spacious room overlooks the Leopoldskroner Weiher Lake, the Unterberg Mountains or Leopoldskron Castle. The rate includes WiFi, bike rental, a welcome drink, an admission to the adjacent pool, a rich breakfast buffet in the castle, a fitness center and parking.

Best stay in Austria. The staff made our anniversary very memorable. Very royal. Would recommend to book a suite. It’s a stay in palace. They provide cycles free for guests. Special mention of restaurant staff gulistan sulieman. Thank you
