An excellent location, street-facing property in a very quiet area on the edge of town above the medieval quarter. Silence at night. A compact gite to suit a couple, plus max 1.5 children, with steep and narrow stairs to a large double bedroom at the front of the house. A well equipped kitchen with large fridge and larder. Room to store bicycles in a locked covered yard. Parking costs eased by residential concession valid at any meter across the town; can be extended by app when free ticket expires.

There was a problem with parking because the road was closed for a bracante at the weekend. We did not know until we arrived. The parking was important to our decision to hire.

Peaceful location in a very interesting and historic area and not too far a walk from the centre of town. It was great being able to park right outside the house although at a cost. Although the first 45 minutes of every day is free (allowing for loading and unloading), the nearby meter offers flexibility throughout a stay but at a price. We decided to use the paid parking some of the time and found the Flowbird parking app very helpful. Parking is monitored as we saw cars including ours, being checked outside the property! Parking is certainly an issue in Saint Valery Sue Somme with the entire town being on same charge metered parking. The only free parking is the approved free area at the canal parking with loads of spaces, but it is at the main route into town at the junction with the D940, which is right at the opposite end of town.

The owner was extremely helpful and responsive. The gite is perfectly located on a quiet street near the medieval town and only a few minutes from the restaurants. The gite is very well equipped, clean, bright, spacious and extremely comfortable. A bonus for us was the secure area for bicycles. The heritage railway is a fun trip.
