Dinner and breakfast was good, atmpsohere the best, a bit rocky road to get there especithe last kilometee of the gravel but everything else exceptional. Dinner at the boma was very special

My review of Tidimalo: If you-get-what-you-pay-for was a lodge then Tidimalo Lodge would be it! The lodge has really cute chalets/ rooms ideal for a short couple's getaway. The rooms are clean and neat with your 80s "animals-on-the-wall" decor. It's best to not visit in Winter as it is freezing in Magalies and the rooms are not nearly warm enough. There's no electric blankets and the heaters are a waste of electricity as they are lit but provide minimal warmth. There was no hot water in the shower in my room, took a very uncomfortable shower. The lodge has no activities except maybe taking a walk/ hike so you need to organise your own entertainment because there arent any TVs in the rooms. Gordon Ramsay would have contemptuously discarded our arrival dinner of what was called a chicken curry. It was awful awful awful. No flavour, no seasoning, nothing. The team redeemed themselves with their breakfast on both mornings we were there. The boma braai could use a lot of improvement, maybe a wider variety of meat as well as some entertainment. Or maybe not do it at all in Winter as it's cold. Overall, my stay at Tidimalo was not completely bad but also far from satisfactory.
