The fine print
We are currently enhancing our building with upgrades like new windows, gutters and a refreshed chimney; part of our commitment to an even better guest experience. Work is scheduled until mid-June, and you may notice some scaffolding and daytime noise during this period. Thank you for your patience as we make these positive changes.When booking 6 rooms or more, different policies and additional supplements will apply. The property will contact the guest following their reservation.When travelling with a dog, please note that an extra charge of £25 for 1 dog or £40 for maximum 2 dogs, per night. Dogs are allowed in designated guest rooms-please notify the hotel in advance.Please note extra beds and cots must be confirmed with the hotel prior to arrival, customers will be required to settle children's extra bed charges (£30 per night) directly with the hotel.The Breakfast inclusive rates include a Full-cooked breakfast and Dinner inclusive rates includes 2 courses from our seasonal menu and a side dish. Supplements apply to certain items. Inclusions only apply for adults. Children’s Breakfast is not included in the advertised rates and the charges are as follows directly to the hotel: 0-4 years old – Breakfast Complimentary/5- 11 years old – Breakfast charged at 50% full price/ 12 and over breakfast charged at full adult price. Kids Dinner Menu also available.

The staff were great, the hotel is very grand and impressive, the room was extremely well appointed and comfortable (Robert Gaunt room) and the food for dinner was excellent. Our dog (£25 extra fee) was also very well looked after with a nice bed and treats awaiting him in the room. We had dinner in the bar as we had our dog with us (not allowed in the bistro) but it was very pleasant in there anyway.

We were very impressed with the service ,the menu was excellent and food delicious. Our room was spacious and clean and the bathing facilities could not be faulted ,all in all a very pleasurable experience
