BelgaQueen “Walked into Fawlty Towers - then walked all over Rotterdam”

Great location and after a few hick-ups at checking-in in what can only be described as a Fawlty Towers experience, we got a double bed room on the upper deck. The hotel offers a glass of cava to all guests in the restaurant bar. The restaurant itself, has excellent breakfast, is not a buffet and offers sour dough bread, croissants, eggs, pancakes and fresh juice. You choose from a menu and can order more if you are still hungry. The tide is about 2 meters so the boat will be higher or lower next to the docks, so you could end up with a window facing, well, concrete. There is no fridge in the room, but you can ask the staff to store e.g. a bottle in a fridge behind the reception area. Staff are very accommodating, but it is very clear that they have very little flexibility to problem solve. Management should give them larger scope in order to increase the hotel service value. The location is brilliant and you can walk pretty much anywhere in town, or head to the water taxi nearby.

I liked the room which had a lovely outside garden area with seating overlooking the river. This was definitely a bonus, and I am glad I upgraded for it. Delicious, although expensive, breakfast. Very helpful staff. Beautiful location by the river Meuse.

There is a complimentary snack and drink at the bar which is cool. But it's there to upsell you to buy an evening meal. Which is fine but I'd love a bit more transparency instead of a weird dance that lasts over an hour to consume a padron pepper. I'd recommend the hotel but don't bother with the complimentary drink and snack if you have evening plans. It should be, get a free snack and drink in our lovely bar if you intend to buy an evening meal on the premises.

The location was great, less than 5 mins walk to the market hall and train/tram station. Staff were super friendly and helped us book train tickets and tours etc. Novelty of being on the water was nice too. Overall we had a really pleasant stay.
