Quirky lovely hotel in fabulous location, great connections with bus stops just behind the Basilica and metro stop down the road. We had the triple room with balcony overlooking the (very busy!) street and beautiful Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore (also well worth a visit). There were just 2 of us and though there were 2 rooms, they're relatively small. It was grand for us but a very tight fit for 3. The ensuite bathroom is well-equipped and very clean, though small. The hotel is, as pictured, covered in very colourful murals, which definitely makes it stand out from the norm! There's a good buffet breakfast in an eye-catching highly decorated room which functions as a quiet bar in the evenings. It has a coffee machine which can be accessed during the day, if you're taking a break from exploring Rome. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the beds very comfortable. There's a roof terrace accessed from the 4th floor by 2 very steep steps (you'd want to be careful after a few drinks..!). It wasn't really in use in March but it would be lovely in good weather. The staff generally were very welcoming and keen that we enjoy our stay. Alessandro was outstanding, very friendly and professional, both in person and in answering emails prior to our arrival. He's an absolute gem and great representative for the hotel. There are lovely bars and restaurants just outside the door so you're well-catered for almost any time day or night. I'd stay there again.

The hotel location is good, just a 10 min walk to Termini but you can also walk into the main centre and visit the Spanish Steps & Trevi Fountain, for instance in less than 30 minutes. There are also buses & a taxi rank next to Santa Maria Maggiore close by. There is a great selection on offer for breakfast each morning, with unlimited coffee, fruit juices, continental and eggs/bacon on offer with various pastries.
