Christophe “Authentic and lovely house conveniently situated near Ribeira Grande”

Lovely house situated on the countryside near Ribeirinha, yet conveniently close to the main road in the north of Sao Miguel. We loved our stay here and would stay here again. The chouse is truly charming, and we were welcomed by the lady that cleaned the house, who also efficiently provided us with the information we needed. There was a very good contact with the very friendly owner via WhatsApp. No issues whatsoever. The pictures on the site really give a good appreciation of what to expect. The beds aren't extremely spacious (but we knew this, hence no problem). You'll need a car to stay here. There is a dish washer and a gas stove and there are sufficient kitchen utensils to prepare your own dinner (which you can have outside, at an authentic stone table while watching the sunset :-)). The excellent location of the house ensures that you're in less than 30' in Ponta Delgada and at many important sights. From here we explored in essence the entire island and there's nothing which is more than 1h driving (even considering the very extreme ends of the islands). The main supermarket (Continente) is in Ribeira Grande, although there's also a Spar in Ribeirinha at less than 8' driving. Overall, this is a great and authentic place to stay while visiting the Azores. Recommended!

Amazing fairytale location. If you like nature, mountains and sea, and you cannot choose, this is the perfect spot. Tiny house but foreseen from all comfort with an eye for practical details. Comfort: enough towels which you even can take to the beach, washing machine, dish washer, oven, 4 gas cooking plates, 2 (!) coffee machines (filter and senseo), fridge equipped with decent freezer, ... Practical details: coffee filters, spices, dish washing tablets, sharp knife, peeler, clothespins, laundry detergent, .... Excellent cleaned (for example shower - silicones are still white, how it should be). A very warm owner and host António, providing you all necessary info about the house and the surroundings, including local tips. And important for the kids: high speed WiFi and a Smart TV 🙃

Casa da Canada was a wonderful experience. Let's start with contact with the owner - he's just incredible. After we booked our stay he sent us a huge guidebook (with sections related to must-see places, restaurants, trails, thermal pools etc.). He did everything to make our stay pleasant, including taking care of additional heating. The house is super cute, built in a traditional style from volcanic rock and it's placed in a beautiful spot, with almost no neighbors. There's absolutely everything you might need inside, including a great equipped kitchen and bathroom, a lot of storage space, some additional blankets, books etc. If you want to sightsee most of the island, probably it's the best spot possible. It's close to the road that connects you with all the most popular places. The closest city, Ribeira has a nice beach and you can find shops, markets etc. and it's just less than 10 mins away (by car). We definitely recommend Casa da Canada, thank you Antionio for our stay!

It is a lovely house at a beautifull location. It is located in the middle of the island which makes it perfect to visit the entire island. In the house you will find all you need, I would would recommend the house!
