We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Wils Hunts Lodge Retezat! From the moment we arrived, Silviu and Diana went above and beyond to make us feel not just welcome, but truly special. Knowing we were celebrating a meaningful event, they surprised us with an upgrade to a larger room that had just become available — a thoughtful gesture that set the tone for the entire experience. The lodge is impeccably clean, beautifully organized, and clearly built with a deep appreciation for quality. Every detail — from the tasteful decor and cozy chimney in the living room to the charming terrace — reflects care and craftsmanship. Even the resident cat, Vi, is a treasure! And the food… simply out of this world. Everything is homemade and natural, bursting with flavor and warmth. For our special occasion, they prepared the best cheesecake I’ve ever tasted — smooth, delicately balanced, and full of surprising, delightful flavors. We felt truly cared for, and we’re already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommended for anyone seeking comfort, authenticity, and genuine hospitality in a stunning setting.

We had an absolute fantastic stay. Silviu is an excellent host who is always there for his guests and we really enjoyed talking with him. We can only agree with the other reviews and highly recommend everyone to dine there. The food is exceptionaly good, you can taste his passion for cooking. If possible, he fulfills every wish. During our stay we had a kind of a special experience, where Silviu helped us in all his ways. Thanks again! Our room and the bathroom were spacious and nicely furnished. The bed was big and particularly comfortable. Everything was clean and there were high-quality hygiene products available. The common room is comfortably furnished and the fireplace was always burning in the evening. The whole place is situated very quiet. We can warmly recommend this location.

Everything was great. Extraordinary hosts, beautiful location, superb air quality. The food was something out of this world, I recommend getting all meals at the lodge, if time allows and you’re not going out hiking too long. Will definitely come back.

Property is perfectly located with easy access to the best hikes in Retezat. The place is very new and well taken care of and super clean. The cherry on the top is the owner, who is excellent chef and creates amazing local dishes.
