The best decision that you can make in Rapallo is staying at Villa Olimpo. It’s a magical place with the most welcoming host. Mrs. Marina is always ready to help you with any questions you may have. She makes the atmosphere here so special, putting so much effort in every detail. We highly recommend this place!

Our host Marina was very warm & welcoming. Marinas family history & that of the villa is very interesting and it feels like you have stepped back in time with very authentic furniture and artwork. There are two seating areas for breakfast; a charming parlour room and a most beautiful conservatory decorated with geraniums. We were lucky enough to breakfast in the conservatory all three mornings that we stayed. Marina took our breakfast order the night before. There is so much choice including all sorts of croissants and breads, fresh fruit, yogurts, cheese, meats. Marina brings all your choices to you on a huge tray to your table - and always with a happy smile. Our bedroom was upstairs on the side of the house. It has a wonderful little garden area accessible via full length bedroom doors. Wooden floors in the bedroom do creak, but it all adds to the charm. There are two chairs and a table and a nice view in the garden area. There are incredible views all the way down to the hill from many places in the villa. All the outdoor paths and plants are beautifully maintained. We arrived by train & took a taxi up to the property ( 5 min drive). After that we walked in & out of the town every day. The villa is up a hill and passes a useful supermarket. We took the ferry one day to Portofino, which also stopped off at Santa Marguerita. Portofino is glamorous with top designer shops and bars around the port. Santa Marguerita is I would say more authentic, which we preferred. We also went to Genoa ( Genova), a short train ride away. After Rapallo we stayed in Camogli for 3 nights mid June. Wow - its location is in the Gulf of Paradise. Definately worth a visit/ stay too.

The property offers you an authentic italian villa experience that is difficult to find somewhere else. The villa is charming, more a museum than an accomodation. The owner Marina is so kind and helpful. I strongly recommend this place to people who value and respect the art and the history and beyond.
