The breakfast was excellent with really exceptional coffee. The situation was wonderful, set on a family property with views across the valley. Aldhi and his family were very welcoming and helpful. He drove us into the village whenever we needed and helped to arrange a local guide.

I loved staying in a traditional Tongkonan house, it’s very cosy! Don’t expect a five star hotel, but it’s fun and great value for money. You can be picked up from the overnight bus if you arrive early and Aldi and his family will look after you during your stay and arrange a guide around the local area. I had Yuspan who is awesome. The guides know when the ceremonies are happening and will take you to all the sights. They will also take you to the shops, dinner etc if you don’t have transport. I think it’s easy to hire a moped if you want.

I loved staying in a traditional house during my visit to Toraja, which made the experience even more unique. Aldi is very attentive and always goes the extra mile to make sure you have a great time, including helping with the bus tickets, motorbike rentals, etc. I defiantly recommend this place to anyone that wants to have an authentic experience!

Staying in a tongkonan is a once in a lifetime experience, Aldi and his family do their best to make sure you have a pleasant stay in their homestay, i had a good time. This special place is not far from Rantepao, but in the countryside, so the atmophere is quiet and relaxed, i even had the chance to have real indonesian/toraja dinner and breakfast with them. You can also have a glimpse of real toraja life when they show you how they feed their animals or collect the local beverage from the trees.
