I had a wonderful stay at La Ola Azul and would absolutely come back a thousand times over! The location is excellent – just one or two minutes’ walk to the beach and about 15–20 minutes on foot to the Point Break surf spot. Everything in town, including restaurants and small shops, can easily be reached within 5–10 minutes. There’s even a very good restaurant right next door. The place itself is quiet and relaxed – I slept really well. Of course, you can’t avoid the occasional dog barking or a car horn, but overall it was peaceful. My bed was super comfortable, the room had enough space for a solo traveler, and the little balcony with a clothesline was perfect for drying surf gear or beachwear. The bathroom was great as well: hot water every time, though the water pressure was a bit low, which only meant I had to shower a few minutes longer. Honestly, it didn’t affect my experience at all. The staff were absolutely amazing – extremely kind, supportive, and genuinely helpful. They went out of their way to assist me, especially when I was searching for surf equipment and a wetsuit in XXL size. Breakfast was tasty, traditional Peruvian style, and more than enough to start the day. Overall, La Ola Azul is a fantastic place with excellent value for money. I felt completely comfortable, well taken care of, and truly enjoyed my stay. I can recommend it to anyone visiting Chicama, and I’ll definitely come back here again.

Me and my boyfriend really loved La Ola Azul. Carla is an excellent host, she is super welcoming, kind and caring. The room was cute and clean, with a small balcony from which you could see the ocean. The position of the structure is perfect, as is close to the beach and to the centre, with good restaurants really close by. For the service we got the prices were fair and super good! I strongly recommend La Ola Azul to everyone who wants to have a nice and tranquil stay in Puerto Malabrigo
