The staff were exceptional. So attentive, friendly and helpful. The room decor is somewhat dated but spotless. Anything you needed that wasn't immediately available the staff would promptly facilitate. We stayed in the sea view room and what a view it was over the port. Stunning. The location was quiet, easily accessible by car or on foot. No lift but plenty of ground floor rooms.

Food was excellent and very hot when bought to the table, nice selection for both breakfast and dinner. Beds were comfortable and bedding clean. Lovely big picture window with beautiful view of the harbour and sea . quiet area but with pubs and restaurants close by. A couple of nice cliff walks for exercise. Nice drive up towards Ayer and then back over the hills and moors to Newton Stewart for great views. Although word of warning, the moors road is not for nervous drivers, lots of twists and turns.
