Ah, the legend continues on further to this truly fantastic hostel (surely one of, if not the best, in the whole country!) having undergone its latest incarnation as 'The Wandering Whale!' Without a doubt, one of the great hostel stays in Australia, with the care taken by Jess and the staff always going well beyond expectations at every level, whether this be hot water bottles, free ear plugs, free tea and coffee, activity areas for young children, or the sensitive consideration which is given to families. Everyone needs to stay here at least once before they die, while it's an especially great accom. choice for those on a budget. Lot's to do - inclusive of walking on and around nearby Griffiths Island, with this place having safe swimming areas for kids!

Beautiful old building perfectly located near the centre of town. Excellent facilities and very interestingly furnished. Lots of useful travel information was available.
