On arrival there were flowers in a vase in the lounge and a welcome tray of coffee, tea, sugar and a packet of biscuits as well as milk in the fridge. Met host Nigel on arrival and a warm welcome. Location was only a short walk across the fields behind the Cottage to Pooley Bridge. Parking right outside front door. Premises were clean and well equipped, bed comfortable. Even though a working farm the location was quiet and the area led itself to enjoyable walks with local restaurants to choose from. There was a car park in Pooley Bridge itself at £4 for a whole day.

An ideal place to stay as a couple. Everything you need all in one place. The dogs were as welcome as we were. The log burner was a definite hit. The countryside and walks at the doorstep. With Pooley Bridge a few mins walk away. What more could we ask for ?

The cottage has everything you need. The kitchen is well stocked and the next door barn has extra essentials. Clean, warm and cosy, perfect when returning from a wet trek across the fells. The views are stunning and the area is peaceful. We loved the fact it was on a working farm and felt privileged to be able to see first hand how incredibly hard work it is to farm these days. We received a warm welcome by the owners and family and were lucky enough to feed some of the lambs.
