Everything about Quinta do Ameal was spot on; location - perfect for exploring northern Portugal. With river activities just a stones throw away. The Quinta itself offers perfect isolation with accommodation spread out we felt like we were the only guests staying! Well manicured gardens, magical break out points where you can read, picnic, walk, swim or just be. The accommodation and in particular design was well considered with comfort at the top of the list. Service friendly and super accommodating - we really had the best three nights stay and will definitely be back!

What a special place! So beautiful and peaceful. Our studio was beautifully furnished, very clean and we loved the little touches like the fresh flowers, walnuts and toothpaste. The bathroom is so luxurious! Lovely breakfast & delicious coffee. We liked that we could choose and change each morning’s order. The staff were wonderful - very flexible and accommodating. We enjoyed the wine tour, river kayaking and local dinner, all of which the team helped us arrange.

It is an old estate perfectly renovated inside with a mix of modern equipment/furniture and the traditional pieces. The service was impeccable - we’ve heard the story of the winery, learned about the super technological production process and tasted the wines. The nature is gorgeous, we’ve done an energizing walk along Lima river, whose current sounds loud and has rapids. I would be happy to come visit this place again.
