Such a warm welcome in this homestay and the meals were delicious! Comfy beds and a very clean room. It was a half hour walk along the canal to the ancient city and we were thrilled to spot kingfishers and a wide variety of other birds along the way. The host was delightful.

A pleasant room with a/c and wi-fi (but no TV or kettle for those to whom that matters). Contrary to older reviews on some sites, there was plenty of hot water in the shower. The manager was very friendly and helpful. An excellent cooked Sri Lankan breakfast was served on the veranda (including kiribath the first day and hoppers the second). We were offered dinner at the hotel on our second night (needs to be booked in advance): an excellent selection of Sri Lankan curries – well worth taking up if offered. Very competitively priced.

This is a very quiet and peaceful place. The room was also very comfortable. The staff were very kind and supportive. It is an ideal place to relax both mentally and physically. Although we came for just one day, we felt like staying for a few more days.
