Lovely house, brilliant hosts so helpful, pool was a blessing in the heat, breakfast was plentiful. Loved listening to the birds and watching all the butterflies and on an evening the fireflies. Beautiful garden. Only a short drive into Florence and some nice places to visit close by. A small supermarket with nice geleteria a few minutes drive away and restaurants closest 5 mins then a few 10-15 mins drive. Hosts helped with booking restaurants, advising best places to park and giving ideas for trips out. A perfect mix of site seeing and relaxation.

We stayed at Casa Palmira while hiking the Via degli Dei. The house is beautifully renovated and tastefully decorated with big, clean, comfortable rooms and a great bed. Breakfast was excellent and a very welcome change from the usual Italian breakfasts, especially with a long day of hiking ahead. Maria is an incredible host who made us feel very welcome. We had contacted her when we booked to ask about dinner options, and she was happy to make arrangements for us and even drove us to the restaurant. The next day she had great tips for Florence, and even made a dinner reservation for our last night there so we didn’t have to worry about calling during our hike. To summarise: this place is a peaceful and wonderful retreat at a great location. Highly recommended! We would love to visit again.
