The flat is withing a walking distance from the Cathedral's square, in Piazza del Carmine right in front of the monument to Mazzini and a Baroque church. We were welcomed by Signiora Elena who met and gave us keys at appointed time Attractions are well withing 10 minutes reach and a car isn't needed. I was particularly pleased to find a giant Esselunga food supermarket just up the main road with a bakery, well stocked deli and the selection of local Italian wines to die for.Casa Baldecchi is spacious and boasts two lavishly appointed bedrooms, a rather big kitchen with a large screen Tv and a sitting room incorporating original medieval Tuscan gates as a design feature cleverly wedged behind the cosiest sofa I have spent many a blissful hour watching RAI on a large screen TV.(another one) It even made me to moderate the amount of outside travel just for the sake of spending more time inside( preparing a Tuscan style steak and enjoying it with a bottle of Chianti from Essalung up the road!). Particularly worth noting is a sophisticated power shower in the bathroom that could be used therapeutically dispensing fine jets of water to massage and invigorate ahead and upper torso! There's even an additional toilet in one of the bedrooms. The master bedroom is facing the Piazza del Carmine has a local cafe bar underneath. Naturally quite busy over the weekend its not a problem as the patron are good local folks chattering amicably in Tuscan dialect which is such a pleasure to listen to. They behave themselves and the only noise could come from the metal shutters when they are closing. In any case Casa Baldecchi is so spacious so even if there could be riot outside one can be quite indifferent .by simply migrating to the sitting room.

Casa Baldechi is easy to access also with a car although a parking place is not that easy to find. The apartment is on the 2nd floor in an old town house with a cafeteria. The walk from there to the historic middle of Pistoia takes just some minutes and not much more to the railway station giving an opportunity to visit e.g. Bologna and Florence easily by train. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds comfortable and the apartment with old furniture gave us a feeling of really living in Italy.

Spacious rooms. King size beds. All clean. Plenty of towels and toiletries. One en-suite bedroom with a wc and one bigger bathroom with a good shower (water pressure, temperature etc). Washing machine and dryer works perfectly. Living room with a tv, printer and many other stuff. Kitchen with everything you need and even nice sitting area with a tv sofa, table, chairs and so on. WiFi strong and reliable. Host communication rapid with no long delays on WhatsApp from one day before. Nice small bar just downstairs where you have nice easygoing chaps who will advise/help you with no hesitation and with a good attitude. Everything is a stone throw from a house. Apartment is nice and with a soul not the one converted into some modern place where you don’t even feel Italy was and is today. Book it-no regrets.
