We stayed in a wonderful corner apartment in Piran with a beautiful view of the marina. The unit is spacious and airy, and with the windows open, a refreshing breeze flowed right through—we never even needed the air-conditioning. The location truly cannot be beat; everything is just steps away, making it the perfect base for exploring the town. Parking in Piran is a little tricky, but our host provided excellent instructions. We were able to drive to the apartment to drop off and pick up our bags, which was very convenient. The host also suggested that if you’re traveling light, it’s best to park outside the old town and take the shuttle in. The shuttle stop is very close to the apartment, and this turned out to be great advice. Driving in and out can feel a little stressful, but once you’re settled, the location makes it well worth it. We stayed for two nights, Thursday and Friday. Thursday evening was quiet, while Friday brought live music right outside our window that lasted until about 11 p.m. It added to the lively atmosphere of Piran, though light sleepers may want to keep this in mind. Personally, I’d stay here again in a heartbeat—the location, the size of the apartment, and the marina views made it a fantastic experience.
