Very clean and in great condition. Pedro and Sarah are so sweet and helpful. They are lovey to talk to and take very good care of the hostel and their guests. My trip would’ve been very different without their advice and conversation. As far as the hostel itself, I appreciated the bathrooms are constructed as individual bathrooms so even if they are shared they don’t feel shared if that makes sense. The lockers are a great size, have their own locks, and a towel was included. They very kindly stock the fridges with breakfast items and drinks with the idea that you give something to the honesty box which was a nice touch. Also has AC that works very well.

I had the most incredible stay at Hostel Douro Backpackers. I felt welcomed and looked after for my whole trip, received excellent recommendations for the area and had a clean and comfortable stay.

This hostel is one of the best ones I've ever stayed in! The hosts are extremely attentive and caring, and it shows in all the details of the facilities and the cleanliness. I would go back anytime!
