Superbly located, our room looked across the lake and to the chateau. Dining outside was comfortable, relaxed and the food excellent. We don't usually have breakfast in the hotel but here, it was a real treat and great value for money. Everything to do with Pierrefonds is within just a few minutes walk yet, we ambled for miles through the surrounding forests. We could hear an amazing variety of songbirds, caught a glimpse of dear in the undergrowth and even a foraging stoat. Everywhere was that peaceful. Further afield there are many landmarks and rural attractions as well as historic towns and villages to explore. All wrapped up with the terrific staff and facilities at the hotel, this was a very memorable trip for us.

The location is superb with a view across the end of the lake to the wonderful chateau. Overall, the hotel is traditional and a little tired but still comfortable, the staff are excellent. The evening meal was served on the terrace across the road in a nice relaxed atmosphere although the steak was disappointing. The starters were both good as was the sweet course. In the morning, we enjoyed a good continental breakfast with excellent choice and good pleasant service. Our pets, two miniature dachshunds were made welcome.

There was a beautiful view from our window of the lake and the castle. The bed was very comfortable and they provided an electric kettle so we could have tea in bed. Food was amazing and an excellent price - 22 euros for a three course meal with 5 star quality. They catered for my vegetarian friend needs and the staff were always cheerful and happy to help.

All lovely, as on many previous annual visits. Rooms exactly as requested, wonderful views. Very good beer, dinner and breakfast.
