We were warmly and extensively welcomed at Villa Pippo by host Santina. The house is beautifully situated with a surrounding garden and views of the sea and the mountains. The house is cosily furnished and has a personal character. The downstairs bathroom has a nice rain shower. And the bed downstairs is comfortable. We did not use the upstairs. Santina’s advice was to dine at Tratoria Linguagrossa in Linguaglossa (a 10-minute drive). Pricey but very tasteful and highly recommended for wine connoisseurs. Santina is a lovely host who is thoughtful and responds quickly.

Excellent location, for all the nature reserves and for those who want to go hiking, a stunning town, local, with charming and cozy cafes, finally feel Sicily without many tourists around, the house feels like we were staying with an Italian nona, lots of personal equipment, tidy, we felt right at home.

Santina was at the property to welcome us and show us around. She is a very nice and helpful host who went above and beyond what she needed to. The house is set in a beautiful quiet location in the low foot hills of Mount Etna with a view of the sea and surrounded by countryside. It was a well laid out and comfortable house to stay in. The garden is lovely with outside seating. The nearby village of Piedimonte Etneo has a good selection of shops like butcher, bakery, a grocery selling fresh fruit and veg, pharmacy, restaurants and some wonderful cafes selling the most amazing pastries and pistachio cream and granita. Goodbye waistline! It's a short drive to the village or a pleasant 15 minute walk along quiet roads. The nearest small town, Fiumefreddo, about a 15 minute drive away also had a good selection of shops etc. and a railway station. Take care where you park! We got a £25 fine for getting it wrong. The main motorway to Catania or Taormina is easy to get to and very cheap to use although the train is a better way to get into Catania. Mount Etna is only a 1 hour drive away and we enjoyed the cable car/4x4 bus and walk to a crater edge. The views are incredible but make sure you go on a clear day. Taormina is beautiful and definitely worth a visit. **** Many smaller businesses do not take card payments so make sure you take some Euros ****

The description and photos on offer correspond to reality. The place is quiet and beautifully located, no one else is there. The house is a bit old-fashioned, but cosy and comfortable, equipped with all necessary appliances. You feel at home. The beautiful garden with comfortable furniture helps you to relax. Great contact with the host, wine to welcome you, advice on visiting or using the house.
