Wonderful location, fantastic kitchen facilities and white goods, loads of space and very nice bedrooms. Having a designated off-road parking space was a huge bonus too. The rockpooling nets supplied were a lovely touch and we made good use of them at Sandsend.

Seriously, this place is the best. If you were to read all the reviews I've written, you'd see that I'm not scared of getting the knives out when I feel like I've been let down, so this isn't just puff - it's real, well-earned praise. The cottage is very well looked after and has clearly had money spent on it quite recently (the electic heaters look like they might only be weeks old). It's clean, fresh and very well equipped (I spent ages trying to think of something that wasn't provided in the kitchen and finally found that there were no wooden spoons, but not only is there plenty of stuff to use, it's all good quality and in good nick). The decor is cottagey and homely. You won't find yourself wondering whether it was done by Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen (for the sake of clarity, this is a good thing) – the furnishings are an eclectic blend of farmhouse, country house, penthouse, beach house and boarding house. The bathroom is quite plain and there's a somewhat unexpected stuffed owl overlooking the stairwell, but the bedrooms are all nice and big (even the single, which an estate agent would no doubt describe as a good-sized double) and the beds are very comfy indeed. We didn't use the log burner but it was great that there was a supply of wood provided. So were towels (and they were nice new ones, not threadbare hell-sheets like you get in some places). Washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs, oven gloves, bog roll, a vacuum cleaner that works… you're properly looked after here, it's in a beautiful village and value for money is off the scale. Absolutely recommended to the max!

Excellent location for Dalby forest. Cafe just a 2 min walk (only open Weds to Sun) and the Fox and Rabbit is a 20 / 25 minute walk. Also has off street parking.
