“Nice stay on a farm”
02 Aug 2024
First of all, I must state clearly that the stay was really enjoyable, the whole experience was great, especially for the money. When staying at the Wagnerhof you should be aware of several things: You are on a farm. You are staying with the family in the same house, they only have a few rooms for the guests, the rest is for the family who have many animals. So you can see the ducks walking around the house, hear and smell the cows in the barn, etc. We expected this and it was nice. If someone is sensitive to these things, it's not for them. There is a huge difference if you have a (front) room with a balcony or a (back) room without. We specifically asked for at least one room with a balcony and it was really great. The balcony has a sofa to sit on and the view is nice. Even the room with the sofa is bigger. The rooms at the back are nice but smaller. I was a bit worried about the comments about the need to be quiet. The property is definitely not suitable for parties, large groups of friends who want to sit and drink until late at night. Even staying with a small crying child can be a bit tricky, but on the other hand I didn't find it limiting. We are pretty quiet by default :-) The breakfast (served as a buffet) was nice, with local products. I'm used to much richer breakfasts in Austria, but for the price it's ok.

“Superb”

We spent a wonderfull summer week on Waganerhof Farm. We really enjoyed everything there. Our host Astrid took care that we have everything we need and she was very kind and smily. It is amazing how the Farm is clean and well-kept! Rooms were renovated, very cosy and cleaned every day. There is an open kitchen with all the equipment that you need to prepare your own meal. We had delicious breakfasts included and there was a range of home made products that we could taste: fresh milk and eggs directly from the farm. jam, jogurts and different food prepared by the host every morning. These breakfasts gave us a lot of power for whole-day mountain trips and our kids simply loved them. You can also enjoy wonderfull views directly from your window or balcony. Farm is located close (8-10 km) to main attractions of the region, being very calm, quiet and not crowded place at the same time. There are wonderful bike paths around and Odensee lake where you can swim. Our host Astrid knows English very well and she was able to recommend us really interesting places and hiking trials nearby. Steiner family created exceptional place with very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. We felt really well there and it is our dream to visit that beautiful place in other seasons of the year

“Friendly owner, delicious breakfast and enough place for parking the car.”

The breakfast was delicious and diverse with home made dairy products and jams. The host Astrid speaks perfect English and answers all questions you may have concerning the trips in Ausseerland. In addition, there is a folder with tips concerning the restaurants, hiking and cycling paths in Ausseerland, etc. The location is close to Bad Aussee, where the Narzissenfest is held every May or June. It is easy to park the car in front of the Wagnerhof.
